Bringing music into your wedding or funeral ceremony
'Music can name the unnameable and communicate the unknowable.'
Leonard Bernstein

However great my words may be, music begins where words end. I can help you find or make the music for your ceremony and involve others, your regular non-musician guests, in the singing of it or the true, deep listening to it.
There may be no greater gift you can give your guests.

How to get your wedding guests singing

Singing is good for everyone, even for those who sing out of tune, it releases endorphins and brings us together. At a funeral it may be fitting for me to sing a blessing or a committal. At a wedding, why not have me rehearse a simple song like 'Stand by Me' with your guests before the arrival of the bride? I can lead a vocal warm up that will have everybody laughing.
Singing can hold a space, ask a question or close a chapter. The oldest musical instrument known to us is a 12,000 year old flute that was found by archaeologists in Israel. We may well have been singing before we were writing. Making music is part of being human.

Picking the perfect wedding entrance music
You'd be surprised how hard it can be to 'just press play'. When a couple plans to walk down the aisle to a Spotify track being cued up by second-cousin-once-removed, Graham, I must respectfully intervene. Graham now has the power to mess up one of the most meaningful moments of your life. Please, leave it with me.
